Courage4/20/2018 *Courage*
As the Lord spoke this to me I was reminded of Joshua 1:9. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord is with you wherever you go. “ God has commanded me to stay focused. Thoughts that come to you are accounted as though they were spoken to you. In this verse it seems like Joshua was having thoughts come to him that were counter to what God said. God had to remind Joshua that he had commanded him to be strong and of good courage. This is telling me that every thought that comes to you that is counter to God’s word is something that is being spoken to you and you need to take heed to what is going on. You are not called to be ignorant here. God’s word to you are his thoughts and any thought that is counter to that is to be resisted, to be put down or it is to be put to death! It can not have a place of supremacy in you. It can not be allowed to rule or to live in you, ever! This is what God is saying. “Stay committed to the word or thought that I gave to you. It is precious and others seek to remove you from it. Why? Because my word is life and life more abundantly.” Courage is maintaining what you have begun in and refusing to come out of it. Courage requires strength of mind to control and to overcome. Be courageous for God has commanded it and if he has commanded it this means that you can do it. -Shaki Brown, HM

Look Inside4/17/2018 APP Ap-17
*Look Inside* “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” -Matthew 6:33 I began to look inside… Did you know that wee can look inside? Did you know that we are commanded to look inside? Yes, we are commanded to look inside. Here is a question: Where is the kingdom of God? Did you know that many Christians don’t know the answer to this question. I will use scripture to give you the answer. Luke 17:20 - 21 20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’[d] For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” So, we see from this verse that the kingdom of God is within us and in Matthew 6:33 Jesus tells to to “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.” We see from these verses that we are to look within. This is not something that is regulated to just the new-age or occult followers. This is what we are called to do. In my journey inwards I have found that we have a kingdom of fear built up within. It is as odds with God’s kingdom. You can see this kingdom and it “colours” what we say and do. To be continued… -Shaki Brown, HM Deficit4/11/2018 Attend to the deficit in you. If you don’t address it you will continue to walk in it and in so doing you will continue to be frustrated. This is an internal issue and it must be dealt with internally.
Seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness is an internal issue for the kingdom of God is within you. This is what Jesus said. This means that we need to take time to “be still” and seek it out. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” In your quietness as your heart searches for God, there you will find him. In this quietness you are not judging - you are simply looking to find God as he is. You are not creating what you think he is or what you think he should be. You are being still to know that he is God. In so doing worship becomes natural and you will see him exalted among the nations and in the earth. This verse even seems prophetic because we understand that things will not remain as they are now. Evil men will not continue as they are. There must be an account made for their actions. God will always come out on top so it makes no sense to war against him. It is futile. Although men may appear to to be excelling we must keep in mind that if what they are doing is not anchored in God, it will ultimately fail. It will not remain forever established. It will come to an end but God’s kingdom will never end. So, engagement in that which is temporary is futile. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” -Psalm 46:10 Meditation on the word of God is work well rewarded. David was a king who was developed on the backside of a mountain. He was in a place that was unseen by others. He was in a place that was not visible to men. Just so that we understand - he was hidden! That was his secret place. As I thought on this I began to realize that I too have a secret place. My secret place is in the basement. It’s not pretty but I accomplish mighty things in it. I would like you to think about your secret place. Do you have one? Where is your secret place? That secret place is where you bang things out. It’s where you meet with God, pray and develop yourself in God. It’s where you discover things IN YOU in God. I encourage you to create, find or develop a secret place. It will help you in your walk with God. Be blessed! -Shaki Brown, HM What is 120 Chiseled?4/8/2018 Some people still have questions. Here is the answer to the question.
WHAT IS 120 CHISELED? 120 Chiseled! is 120 days of working out to get in shape for the summer. The idea behind it is this: It takes 4 months from the time you plant some crops before you get a harvest. 4 months is 120 days. I always say to do a little every day and you will see success. If you don't do it you will not see any success. Here is the thing. Some people say that they will wait till summer to exercise to get in shape. I say why wait untill summer to begin? You will be in the same shape you are in now. Why wait? Work at it now so that when summer comes you will already be where you want to be. All that will be left is for you to enjoy it. If you do exercise you will feel better and you will look better. It must be a combination of diet, exercise and positive mindset. Recently I heard someone say that they will wait until summer to start working out! This mindset is in many people. It’s called procrastination. Just like a plant takes time to mature, so will your health. Your vision is the seed. Daily you must tend to it to ensure that you will have a harvest. Look to what you want and begin to implement your vision. Work towards your goal. You know what you want to look like. Focus on it and take steps towards it. This will require patience. When you plant a seed you do not see the full plant right away. In fact, you do not see anything at all but you know that you will. The seed is buried and it has all that it needs to grow. The one who plants the seed also has hope. The one who plants the seed knows that it is only a matter of time until they see a harvest. One may even have an idea of when the seed should start sprouting and when it will be ready for harvesting. I have written what is typed here in a document called tomatoes. Let me give you a bit more. From the time you plant your seed you must understand that you are in a war. There will be things that will come to attack your plant. Anytime you make a move towards something that will bring positive life changing results, opposition will always come. If you know this, you can prepare against it. I’ve seen this in my own life and I’ve seen it in another person’s life who it moving towards losing weight. When he began his quest, opposition rose up. It was within two days that it occurred. It doesn’t matter how long it takes until it occurs. You can be sure that it will occur, so preparation is key. As it is with a plant, in the sense you have to tend to it on a daily basis, so it is with you and your goals. A plant gets attacked by weeds, insects, rodents and sometimes the weather goes out of whack. You must prepare for this. Much of the preparation it mental. Be ready for the battle and stay focused on getting your harvest. This is also what business men do. The have a goal or focus and then they go after it. They will not let anything stop them from achieving their goal. How about you? Now you know. It’s now up to you to CHOOSE to go after it! -Get Chiseled! Author
